By the way

October 31, 2010

It’s 6:45 a.m. on a Sunday and I am wide awake. Apparently, I have forgotten how to sleep.

This is going to be a long nine months.

Yep. I’m pregnant. I am a whole, whopping 10 days pregnant, although in their magical calculations, the doctors say I am a month pregnant. Still, caution would be the norm, and yet here I am writing about it to the world.

This fits in with none of my traditionally Old World, pooh-pooh, keep the Evil Eye away superstition. We don’t talk about these things. In my culture, we don’t even have a baby shower until after there is a real, live baby.

But you guys have been so kind, so generous with your support. There’s no way I could just wink mysteriously for the next three months. Besides, I’m not sure how one winks mysteriously in Helvetica.

I’ll just say this …. if you know me In Real Life (not that I have one), I would deeply appreciate this remaining between us, and not a topic of conversation. Those who know me were carefully invited to read.

If you don’t know me, you should tell everyone you know that I am pregnant.

WONDERFUL NEWS!!! Why a month? Is it your hcg level? That might be higher because of twins. Right?

    Hell yes, mama!

I kept checking this blog like it was gonna give me winning lotto numbers. I’m so happy that all the doctors and drama and dollars have paid off. Here’s hoping your uterus continues to be at the top of its class for the next 9 months.
